How are the hotels in the Chicago area?

Me and my boyfriend are planning a trip to Chicago in July. My parents being a little over protective (Ill be a month shy of 19) are worried about the area. We are staying at the red roof inn in Deerfield/Northbrook. Anyone know how this area/hotel is? I'm from Michigan just north of Detroit, and I heard the Chicago area isn't much better. So any help would be great!

  1. The area is safe. You are better off at the Holiday Inn Express in Riverwoods if you want to stay in the northern burbs. If you go to www.entertainment.com and buy their book the hotel room is about 90 a night with breakfast. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the city there are a lot of hostels. The only one I've ever been to is http://www.arlingtonhouse.com . Public transit works well in the city www.transitchicago.com so consider getting a visitor pass. Good Luck
  2. well to know more and being secured . Also for great discounts and good deals you can go for asite that gives all information in one . Better crawl :http://www.choice4hotels.com I really had a wonderful experience with them and wish that you may also have . Try , it really works.create booking for good packages and have fun .
  3. Deerfield - Northbrook is one of the nicer suburban areas. Being from Detroit you have street smarts. You know not to walk around at night. use your common sense and enjoy Chicago .
