Why do Americans keep letting the Federal Govt increase the number of Bureaucracies to regulate our lives?

I've lived in Japan and one of their biggest complaints is there are too many Bureaucrats and Bureaucracies that is why nothing can ever get done, because bureaucrats and not the elected officials chose which laws to enforce and how long it can be enforceable. I'm afraid that the bigger the Federal Govt becomes the harder it will be to regulate what Bureaucrats do, take the EPA for example.

1. Most Americans oppose of what govt is doing- but govt don't seem to care- they are like commies! They are stepping on us and robbing us!
2. If you fix education, you fix everything. (drugs, violence, ignorance, ect.)
3. Its not all the americans fault, you have to place blame on those that voted the current idiots into power.

5. Your right. Those that voted for hope and change are beginning to see the error of their ways. The government became too big in the mid '60s though. There is plenty of blame to go around but what is going on now if left unchecked will destroy, at the very least, the economy.

7. good point, but my biggest concern is all Americans continue to DESTROY our environment instead of cutting down on water, electric and gas usage and post consumer waste
8. What about the EPA, baka? You don't like clean water, fish. deer? How would you know what are the Japanese's biggest complaints, bokki? Do you speak Japanese? Or were you there to teach English or in the military? Did you ever smell Tokyo Bay?
9. Liberal progressives feel the government run by progressives know better how to live and run your life than you do. They feel that life would be perfect if they could just control and reform and reform and continue to reform every aspect of your life until its perfect. If it is not perfect.. another reform program with more bureaucrats will make it so. The EPA is a perfect example. They have fooled the Supreme Court into allowing the EPA to control the byproduct of your breathing, CO2. Saying it is a poisonous gas. Therefore the government can legally control every aspect of your lives now. We are no longer free men. Sad, very sad.
10. I don't like bureaucrats either but apparently there were not enough overseeing BP . And they poisoned the beautiful Gulf Of Mexico. What a travesty.
