What benefits are there for my employer to donate to my london marathon fund?

i work in the uk, and am running the 2009 london marathon. I want my employer to donate a large sum to my sponsorship fund. What benefits tax wise are there for him to do this? My employer owns a small business(a restaurant). Is there a way he can donate to me instead of paying tax?
