What event in life has inspired you to have a different perspective on the way you see the world today?
Life is not always fair and sometimes we feel like no matter what we do bad things keep happening all around us. Is there some even in your life that changed that point of view and if so, how do you refrain from going back to the old familiar feelings?

- The most obvious is having children totally changed my opinion on life and whats important and whats not. I had my daughter at 18 and b4 that I used to drink all the time and had no goal for the future, But now I am back at college hoping to become a solicitor one day. I am married and very ambitious towards the future. My children would stop me from returning to my old ways.
- I don't try and refrain from going back to "old familiar feelings". I greet them when they come just as you would finding a old hat in the closet. You take it out, try it on and most likely look in the mirror and realize you look different in it than you use to. In essence.... our perspective changes over time and so do our feelings.
- When I learnt that a boy called Iqbal was murdered for protesting against child labourers. They assassinated a 9-year old boy. Just makes you more thankful for the life you get to live.
- I got curious about sex. Sounds weird, but hear me out; my parents were inclined to not give me 'the talk' until I got my period, which wasn't until I was 15. But I got curious before then, went to sites like Scarleteen, and learned (no, I didn't instantly go out and put my knowledge into practice; I was 11 at the time, and remained a virgin until I was 15). When my parents did try to give me the talk, I knew more than they did, and kept correcting misinformation they had. I realized that I wasn't limited by the level of my parents. In some areas, I could move beyond them. It was more than just rebellion...in fact, it wasn't even really that. It was changing deep parts of myself that hadn't felt right, but that it'd never occurred to me to change. I gave up being agnostic and became religious, I allowed myself different political views and, best of all, learned to speak out when I thought they were doing something to me that was doing more harm than good. I went through a ton of shit because they were doing things said by outdated 'experts'. When I really broke free, I was able to say, "This isn't working." Lucky me, they were understanding. They listened. My life is better because of me being a late bloomer. Hehehe.
