What is the more effective political strategy? What is the more effective political strategy? 1) Spending time and money educating voters to alternatives to the party in power and working hard to reach out to them, listen to what they want, and creating tangible alternatives thereby convincing them to vote for the minority party. 2) Spending time and money on "grass roots" protests that educate no one nor highlight sensible, tangible alternatives to the status quo, but instead appeal to "base" voters and alienate moderates. All strategy is assumption. You brainstorm, coordinate, and hope it works. Edit: Dr Phil. Both Democrats and Republicans have used strategy 1 and strategy 2. Remember a guy named Reagan? He used 1 very effectively.
Is the Republican Political Strategy a good idea? Thanks to carelessness we now know the Republicans political strategy is based on trying to further destroy the US economy and undermine the global war on terror. Is this a good strategy or is it perhaps treasonous?
What is one political strategy that would allow the US to resolve the situation in Iraq? Aside from what the politicians think, and how they think they can resolve the situation in Iraq, how do YOU think this situation can be resolved politically? Here is your chance to tell the world (even the President) how this war can be resolved. Obviously, you must take into account our current state of affairs, including all the lives that have already been lost and the potential for more lives to be lost. This question is for a political solution alone. I will post a separate question for a military solution, if there could be one.
Is TV fair game in a political strategy? If supporting Glenn Beck's advertisers is fair game, then so too is their profit margin at Fox. A spot on American Idol runs for $600,00 and $700,000 for a 30 second spot. Targeting those advertisers can help to shut down their enterprise.
What's worse, spying to determine a political strategy, or arming an enemy with weapons? Was Watergate, bugging democrat offices to determine political strategy, worse than clinton sending missile guidance systems via loral space and bernie schwartz to china? which are now used on nuke tipped missiles currently pointed at us(as well as on iranian missiles via china and north korea)for campaign cash in 1996? i noticed neither of you brainwashed commie socialist morons answer the question directly but as usual used the insane tactic of diversion to another topic. typical. liberalism clearly is a mental disorder.
Which style of political ad strategy is more believable to you? I've seen them done by both Obama & McCain. In one ad the candidate talks directly into the camera in a "one-on-one", relaxed, individual way, sincere and personal. The other is the traditional ad agency format where there's a montage of pictures of the candidate with voters and the agency does the voiceover of his qualifications. Which grabs your attention? Which are you most likely to believe?
A question about an observation of the liberal political strategy? It seems like the Dems. have been focusing their campaigns on small groups of people - global warming, african americans, homosexuals. I hear them talk about righting the wrongs of society if elected. It seems like the Dem. Presidential candidates are following this strategy as well. My question - do you think it will work? or do you think it will cause the Dem. party to self destruct? How can one Dem. candidate please everyone when they're all focusing on different minority groups of people? Thanks in advance for your THOUGHTFUL and SERIOUS answers only :) You may say American is made up of small groups of people, but I counter by saying that NO small group defines who I am as a person. You can't define me simply by my age, my gender, my race, my religion, etc. NONE of those things makes me who I am, and they shouldn't define you either.
Is the new political strategy working in Iraq? It would appear Americans do not think the democrats in Congress know what they are doing. What do you think? 62% of Americans disapprove of the Democrats handling of Iraq, while only 37% approve (ABC News/Washington Post, 4/12-15, 2007). At 62% they might not have control of the congress today, do wonder if Americans feel cheated?
Does this political strategy really work? Hermann Goering, interviewed during the Nuremberg Trials: Göring: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Gustave Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars. Göring: Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country. from Gustave Gilbert, "Nuremberg Diary" "Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death." -- Adolf Hitler

Is Political Strategy and Manipulation Ethical? I've had two people tell me now that a career of political strategy is unethical when one values helping society raise it's consciousness as a whole, and would like individuals to feel more empowered. This is very important because political strategy is my career choice, and that's part of my belief system. In political strategy, I would use appeals to many emotions, including guilt, fear, and anger, in order to achieve the objective of electing a candidate. However, I'm personally committed to helping people feel more positive, in daily interaction I enjoy encouraging people in everything that they do. These two people would say that I'm a hypocrite, and that I would be contributing to the problem of people in society vibrating at a lower state of consciousness. But...I don't know. Am I a hypocrite? Is it impossible to have both those goals? I think I'm simply interested in the manipulation of emotional states, and the effects of pairing objects with them. I notice how you can control or change a person's behavior simply by changing their emotions. I can use this manipulation in positive and negative ways. As a political strategist, however, I would simply be doing this from an academic perspective. My goals would be mundane and innocent -- the election of a candidate. The persuasive appeals I would make as a political strategist would do nothing more than pair a negative (or positive) emotion, such as fear (or happiness), with a specific object, such as terrorism while a Democrat is in office. An appeal like this, I think, would not have any effect on the state of consciousness of a person. What do you think? Would work in political strategy contribute to the lowering of consciousness in society? Is it Ethical? Is it unethical to manipulate a person, even in a positive way? Do we have the right to step into the boundary of free will?
limitation of political risk reduction strategy? as stated above..what are the limitations? things like joint venture and gaining political leverage are some ways to reduce risk reduction for multinational companies, what are the limitations that comes with it?
Political Strategy question. If Iran undergoes sanctions, will they be the next Iraq? Is the purpose of the sanctions to make the offending party weak enough on the inside that either A) they bow to demands B) civil unrest leads to a regime change or C) make them weak enough that in 10 to 20 years they are ripe for invasion? And what changes would allow Iran to be able to continue enriching uranium? Would they have to change to a democracy? Or are there other requirements?
Is there more early political background information on Cindy McCain? I just read this and found it interesting: "Cindy who is 18 years younger than Gramps McCain and she paid for McCain's first campaign for Congress in 1982 with loans from her well-endowed trust fund. Her father's business and political contacts helped gain her husband a foothold into Arizona politics. I wonder how much of her trust fund that she used and how the political strategy worked to get McCain into Arizona politics? Real answers please and I'm not interested in Obama.
Who else thinks this Miami/Terrorist thing is just another political strategy by the Bushies? It's all we're hearing about... Terrorists from Miami were trying to blow up the Sears Tower... but it sounds like these guys were set up or like it was some kind of entrapment... If they were really trying to commit an act of terrorism, then I'm glad they got caught... But if they weren't then I'm ashamed of being from Florida. Your thoughts? I guess I'll just need to see some HARD evidence that they were really planning it... like blueprints or something... But they are young... like 22 years old and they are American citizens who work here... we can't treat this lightly. It is impossible at this time for us to know... the information was JUST released an hour ago... but how can we ever REALLY know if there was a plot or if some kids got arrested for being "liberal". Thanks Almost3Am - I feel a little better, given that information. But does anybody else think about how it will affect our society if we get to a point where they can arrest us for what we "thought about" or "planned to do"? I mean, they could just make it up as they go along.
How much credibility does Karl Rove have now as a political strategist? I know that shortly before he died, the late Lee Atwater was extremely remorseful about the political tactics he employed. Karl Rove became his heir apparent and continued the tradition of wedge issue politics and smear tactics. In light of today's changing political landscape, aren't Karl Rove's political strategies and tactics virtually obsolete or almost devoid of their former effectiveness? By "changing political landscape", I mean the reality that the Republican Party is shrinking as a percentage of the electorate. The Republican Party now constitutes only 27% of the electorate. By 2012, this will be an even smaller figure. By "political landscape" I mean exactly what Karl Rove refers to when he analyzes the county by county breakdown of registered voters and their political party affiliation. This is the "political landscape" that is changing at a very fast rate!
What do you think about sen. Obama's political strategy? Obama is not to be trusted. what is wrong with his supporters. why dont they get it. its not about us, its about him and his well being. But what do you think about this video about the Michigan primary? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QshvHUmSVc0
Are the Democrats terrible about political strategy? Democrats on the hill are "blaming" Bush for the war in Iraq. But most Democrats voted to invade four years ago. Shouldn't Democrats be more saying the war was won, and justified, and only the incompetence of Rumsfield, Cheney, and Bush later led to the collapse of Iraq, This way they are being stong; not being hypocritical; and, frankly, more correct than the current mushy stance that must rely on the public's amnesia?
